John Cobb

John brings over 30 years of experience in the senior housing space, having most recently served as Executive Managing Director & Head of Capital Markets at Blueprint. He previously served as Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, of Ventas where he oversaw $35 billion worth of healthcare real estate transactions. John also served as President and CEO of Senior Lifestyle Corporation, where he led the strategic direction of a 9,000+ unit retirement company with over 3,400 employees. Prior to that, he held various positions within GE Healthcare Financial Services, with the last being Senior Managing Director, where he led a team focused on debt and equity investments of healthcare real estate totaling over $9 billion.
John graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Finance.
Phil Kayden

Phil brings over 20 years of healthcare real estate investments experience, with 18 years at Ventas and Welltower, where he facilitated more than $15 billion in transactions, ranging from single-property acquisitions to public-company mergers. Phil most recently served as Executive Managing Director for Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors, a national healthcare advisory firm based in Chicago. Previously, he served as Chief Investment Officer for two operating platforms of a +$5 billion vertically integrated real estate investment manager.
Phil graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, Magna Cum Laude.
Elliot Pessis

Elliot contributes over 20 years of industry expertise to the platform, having served as Head of Senior Housing Asset Management for Harrison Street, where he actively managed the firm's multi-billion dollar senior housing portfolio comprised of nearly 30 thousand units across the Firm’s opportunistic, core, and separate account investment vehicles. He is an active member in both the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry ("NIC") and the American Senior Housing Association ("ASHA"). Elliot is a featured speaker, panelist, and thought leader in the senior housing industry and other real estate sectors.
Elliot holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance and International Business from Indiana University Bloomington. Elliot serves on the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee for Keshet, a unique organization that brings classroom experiences, camps, sports, social and vocational activities, and residential opportunities to 600 people with disabilities and special needs annually.
Emily Mayer

Emily brings experience in multifamily and senior living investment, asset management, and supporting acquisitions. She most recently served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Inland Real Estate Group, where she oversaw more than $246 million in assets and supported the management of a $3.75 billion national portfolio spanning multifamily, senior living, and hospitality properties. Her responsibilities included budgeting and reforecasting, financial and operational analysis, capital project evaluation, and investor reporting. Emily was actively involved in multifamily dispositions totaling more than $1 billion in aggregate transaction value, contributing across buyer selection, due diligence, and closing.
Emily holds a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate from Indiana University.
Sean O’Malley, CPA

Sean brings over 12 years of finance and healthcare real estate experience. He most recently served as Director of Fund Finance at Ventas, playing key role in the growth of Ventas’ Investment Management platform. Prior to that he spent 6 years at Harrison Street, supporting the growth of its flagship open ended core fund during his tenure. He began his career at KPMG in the audit practice. Sean has spent his career focused on business processes and system implementations to support scalable and accurate financial reporting in private equity real estate.
Sean graduated from Ohio University with degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems, Summa Cum Laude.
Holden Torrens

Holden brings 7 years of investment expertise, including nearly 4 years on Ventas’ investments team, where he focused on deal origination, underwriting, and execution for senior housing and healthcare real estate acquisitions and developments, contributing to a team that completed nearly $4 billion in investments during his time. He began his career in investment banking at Baird, gaining experience across both Equity Capital Markets and M&A advisory.
Holden graduated from Miami University (OH) with a degree in Finance, Magna Cum Laude.
Eric Solberg

Eric brings experience across multifamily investment and asset management. He most recently served as an Asset Management Associate at 29th Street Capital, where he managed and supported a national portfolio of more than 200 assets totaling over 4,800 units. His responsibilities included business-plan execution, financial and operational analysis, capital project oversight, refinancing, and dispositions, contributing to more than $200 million in completed transactions. As an early member of the asset management team, Eric helped develop the foundational modeling, reporting, and cash-management systems still in use today. He began his career in wealth management at Baird, analyzing equity investments and macroeconomic trends.
Eric holds a B.S. in Economics with a Minor in Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan.
Katie Tarpey

Katie brings over 10 years of experience in the Seniors Housing industry. She began her career at GE Capital, supporting the Healthcare Financial Services team, and later joined Ventas, where she served as Manager of Marketing & Communications. At Ventas, she helped shape and execute the company’s overall marketing and communications strategy, enhancing brand awareness across key stakeholders—including employees, customers, and investors—through targeted communications, outreach, and events.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dominican University.
